Photo Run-through

1) The Springtime Hill Climb starts at Doanes Park at 8am on April 12th.

2) Well, here we go the starting line for both the 5K and 10K is right in front of the Doanes Park sign on Pleasant Hill Blvd and Doanes Park Rd

3) Here is a clearer shot of the 5K turn off trail. This trail hooks up to a wooded trail that we will have some shots of after the 10K runners meet back up on the 5K trail.

4) The 5k take the path to the trail.
5) Ok, now we are just on the 10k extended run. The 10K runners keep going straight under the overpass.
6) Once you have went under the over pass you will want to stay to the right. This is the only over and back to Miller the Driller in the course so you will meet other runners on you left. There is a U painted in the middle of the 12th where the turnaround is.

7) As you see the overpass again take a right before you get to it.

8) Keep on going through the intersection into the parking lot.

9) Just pass the old Lakeside Bldg you will take a sharp right.

10) There will be a curb at the end of the parking lot that leads to the trail. You will take a right on to the trail.

11) One you are on the lake trail just follow it all the way around.

12) After around the lake keep straight past the restrooms and again stay aware when crossing the intersection.

13) Keep running on the trail that will make a right turn and go under the overpass.

14) (5k join 10k route) Once on the trail the 5 and 10 k runners will run together through the woods

15) As you end the trail there will be another portable toilet. You also will need to be careful at the end of the trail there will be a sharp left onto a gravel patch of the course.

16) This shot was taken in March. We will smooth out this section as best we can before the race.

17) So up to this point you have been wandering why we called it the hill climb. Going up!

18) Take a left at Pleasant Hill Blvd and back to Doanes Park.

If you are not a runner but would enjoy supporting Springtime Hill Climb and be a part off the action, we would like to talk with you.

The Springtime Hill Climb staff is a group of more than 50 volunteers that come together each year and work side by side to serve our runners and support our charity. There are many different volunteer opportunities, registration, refreshments, road safety team, water stations and greeters, just to name a few. We have a 6pm Friday night meeting at the Health Fair and the work begins early Saturday morning. It really is a lot of fun and many of our volunteers return every year.
